Once In A Lifetime Pre-Season Kick-Off at Peterborough Players
Ascending Stars High School Collaborative Project Attracts Area Talent
Peterborough, NH (May 27, 2010) – Once In A Lifetime, a comedy by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, will be the pre-season kick-off to the Peterborough Players' 2010 season. Directed by Artistic Director Gus Kaikkonen, the play is the Ascending Stars high school collaborative project, whereby talented high school students are given the opportunity to act and work alongside the professionals. Once In A Lifetime will be performed June 9, 11, 12, and 13.
Once In A Lifetime, set in the 1920s, is the rollicking tale of three down and out troupers who decide to head for Hollywood to try their luck with the newly invented talkies. It’s a fast-paced, wild romp that is a marvelous spoof of tinsel land.
Professional actors Kathy Manfre, Michael Dell'Orto, Ken Sheldon, Scott Gardner, Rob Koch, and Darcie Champagne will be on stage, along with home schooler Haviland Johansson-Forgit and the following actors from Conval High School: Sean Arnold, Renn Bauhan, Lucy Beyer, Chris Commander, Cleo Flemming, Kody Grassett, Alice Hale, Aidan Holding, Olivia Horton-Gregg, Hayley Ryan, Anastasia Stevens, Sofia Thornbald, Annie Trowbridge, Karissa Vincent, and Greg Yerkes. Zach Moylan, Cassie Capitao, and Peter DeVinne will work behind the scenes with the Players’ stage manager and set, sound, and lighting designers.
With the energy, talent, and enthusiasm of the high school youth, and the expertise of the professionals at the Players, Once In A Lifetime might be the best bargain in town with tickets just $10 students/children and $15 adults.
